The class meets a short walk inside the park entrance on the southern corner of 79th St and Fifth Ave (not the northern entrance closer to the Met). From the entrance, walk straight into the park with the lawn on your left; after about 200 feet, you'll reach a fork in the road before the path winds up Cedar Hill. Our class meets there, behind the benches and under a tree beside the path.

From our meeting spot, we'll follow the path that winds up Cedar Hill. At the top of the hill is East Drive, a jogging and cycling road with a traffic light, where we cross and bear left toward the park's maintenance lot. Just before the lot, we turn left following the path into the forest for about 100 yards until we reach a big boulder balancing atop a larger boulder. This area is our forest classroom.

From our meeting spot, we'll follow the path that winds up Cedar Hill. At the top of the hill is East Drive, a jogging and cycling road with a traffic light; we’ll cross to the lefthand path
and then stay straight on the path instead of making the sharp left toward the Big Rock. Walking straight along the path will take us past the Ramble Shed (the stone building with bathrooms). We’ll stay on the path as it bends uphill and to the left, bringing us to an open meadow and a mulched area where we have class.
